Chesterfield

The project features over 250 custom curated art pieces throughout 150,000 square feet. Our team was hard at work this summer producing the artwork over the course of 6 weeks.

The project was built into 4 neighborhoods and 8 households. Each was themed by local landmarks and destinations throughout Michigan. Here are the areas highlighted: Anchor Bay, Harsens Island, Blue Water Bridge, St. Clair River, Automotive Way, Selfridge Airforce Base, Turnip Rock, Lake Huron.

Extensive research was done to create historic and contemporary artwork groupings. Creative A worked with local Michigan photographers as well as veterans to curate a variety of work.

Chesterfield is located 30 miles north of Detroit, MI. It was home to ford, General Motors, and Chrysler, which at the time in the 1900s were the most successful auto manufacturers around the world. The assembly line was created in Detroit, which would later revolutionize manufacturing. The neighborhood theme “Automotive Way” features imagery from Ford Motor factory as well as other industry related artwork.

Various materials were used throughout the project. Custom 3D art was created to connect with the Great Lake state of Michigan representing the branches of Military. Custom Shadowboxes representing the 5 branches of military: Army, Navy, Marines, coast guard, Airforce

The team worked together to assemble a custom curation in the Chapel. The custom art piece features salvaged stained glass from the previous veterans home. Our team prefabricated the wooden structure and inset the panels on site due to the weight factors
